Standing

Reese loves to stand.  She has been standing (with help of course) for over a week now.  She puts those feet firmly on the ground and sways those hips around to keep her balance.  It's too cute!

PLAY TIME!

Reese loves to play!  She has a ladybug that is raised up off the ground that helps her with tummy time.  The lady bug spins around when she pushes with her hands and feet, so she enjoys looking at the different activity stations underneath it.

Reese also has a great time on her play mat.  She is becoming quite the little grabber as she reaches out for things to put in her mouth.  She gets some time each day on both of these toys while listening to Baby Bach or Baby Mozart.  (We’re trying to make her smart!)  All of this excitement is usually followed by story time.  (Again... we're trying to make her smart!)

She's out of Our Room :-(

As of 2 weeks ago Reese no longer sleeps in our room.  We had no issues getting her to sleep in her own room/crib.  So to all those doubters out there who said we'd eventually have a 10 year old sleeping in the bed with us.... it looks like we know what we're doing after all!  I really do miss having her in our room and bed at night, but she's at the point now where she gets a better nights sleep in her own room.  Now she's not disturbed when Lee tosses, turns, and sets his alarm clock off.  Reese loves her lion.  She cuddles with it every night before falling asleep.  So adorable!

TEETHING

Reese is teething!  She wants to chew on everything!  We picked up a few chew toys but she still prefers to chew on our knuckles.  She is still sleeping through the night, so we haven't had any serious drawbacks to this whole teething process yet!

Here is Lee playing beauty shop with his daughter.

I'm not so sure Reese was happy with her new hairdo.  :-)  But God bless Lee for trying!

    ONE SMART COOKIE!
(Can you guess which one it is??)

4th of July

This was Reese's 1st 4th of July ... she is 3 months and 3 weeks old.  We spent the day at the lake with 70 or so of our relatives.  We had a big cook out with beef tenderloin as the main dish that Bobby so happily prepared for everyone.  The day was filled with good conversation, swimming, fishing, canoeing, laying on the bank of the lake and a fireworks show at night.  Reese LOVED the fireworks!  She stared in awe at the sky and never even flinched at the loud sound.  A huge thanks to Dad and Lee for putting on another great fireworks display!

Reese was very festive in her red, white and blue outfit ...  accompanied by her red and white pacifier.

We took Reese swimming in the lake for the very 1st time.  She loved the water!  She liked laying on her back (with support from Mommy) and kicking her legs.  As you can tell, we need rain!  The lake is down further than anyone has ever seen it.

She also enjoyed lounging in her inflatable crab.  We swam her out to the deep dock and back before I got concerned about too much sun exposure.

We can't wait for next year's 4th of July celebration!!!
