Reese is ONE!

We had a St. Patrick's Birthday party for Reese on Sunday.  Lots of friends and family joined us in celebrating Reese's 1st year of life.  Many thanks to everyone who was a part of her big day!

I made Reese's cake using all organic ingredients.... no sugar added... just bananas, apple sauce, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, cream cheese and apple juice.  She LOVED it and I felt comfortable enough letting her have as much as she wanted.

I made a shamrock cake for all the guests to enjoy.  It wasn't organic (or healthy), but it sure was yummy!

Below is a picture of us talking to Lee's parents and sister, who are in Pennsylvania, using the computer.  This way they got to participate and wish Reese a happy birthday!  Technology is pretty amazing.

Will add more pictures later.  Lee and I are exhausted.  Whew.....

Almost ONE!!!

So much is going on as we prepare for Reese to turn 1 this Sunday!  She has gone through a lot of changes recently and is becoming more of an individual every day.  Reese loves to pull herself up to standing, walk holding on to your hands, and talk.  She can say quite a lot for her age..... book, dog, apple, baby, door, ball, more, and today she even went up to her potty and said "potty."  She doesn't use her words on a consistent basis... it is still easier for her to point and grunt, but she is quite skilled in the language department.

We are working on teaching Reese to use a spoon.  It is a very messy process!  She is getting the hang of it though.  She does really well at feeding herself finger foods.  Although, since she still only has 2 teeth it can be hard for her to chew some things.

I took Reese to see Mom-mom (her great grandmother.)  Mom-mom has alzheimers and has forgotten who we are, but she seemed to get a kick out of watching Reese scoot around on her booty.

Reese loves to eat apples.  She also likes to share her food.  Feeding Mommy and Daddy usually gets a few good laughs out of her.
