Adventures in Cloth Diapering

About 4 months ago Lee and I got fed up with the increasing prices of disposable diapers.  There had to be a better way than spending $40 every month on poop.  So we started looking in to cloth diapers, and after lots of research, we decided to give Fuzzi Bunz a try.   http://www.fuzzibunz.com/  We LOVE them!  Leaks are extremely rare, they are super cute, better for the environment, diaper rash is controlled much more easily, and best of all... they save us money in the long run!

                                           It's a clean diaper.

It's really not hard at all to use these cloth diapers.  You dump the solids in the toilet and put the diaper in a water proof bag.  When the bag fills up you drop the diapers AND the bag in the washing machine .... viola you have clean diapers.

Fuzzi Bunz use snaps to stay on the baby.  We like this because 1)we find them sturdier than other brands which use velcro and 2) it's hard for Reese to take them off herself.  We still use disposables when we travel out of town or go somewhere it's difficult to change her every 2 hours.... which isn't that often.  Now we just need to get the grandparents comfortable changing a cloth diaper!

Hey! I have thought about cloth diapering as well... so I looked at the FuzziBunz website. I am still considering it but full of questions :)- what size and package did you get? how many do you suggestion someone getting? is it really as easy as they make it seem? how often do you wash them? Thanks!
